Shunsō : Nakajima Mitsuhisa
Sunsō’s Higashi kiln produces Akazu-yaki ceramics.
Akazu is a traditional ceramic production area of Seto in Aichi prefecture. Therefore some Akazu-yaki kilns have their roots in tea ceramics when ceramic production was under control of the load of Owari. They are mostly known as Shino, Oribe, Kizeto, Ofuke etc.
Nakajima Mitsuhisa carries over the tradition, and he creates new works with it.
